ABOUT
OUR RESCUE

The Humane Bean is a non-profit organization located in Northeast Ohio. Our rescue missions are entirely funded by donations, sponsors, and personal financial support.

A typical rescue mission for the Humane Bean involves acquiring the pet, assessing and attending to any injuries or parasites, a standard vet visit, and an in-home rehabilitation period of 3-16 weeks, depending on the condition.

During rehabilitation, our rescues are given plenty of love while they recover from any illnesses or conditions they may have. They are vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and given plenty of time to convalesce. After this period, they are exposed to multiple types of gentle social stimuli including other animals and children to properly adjust them for life at their forever home.

Pregnant cats are kept with their kittens until the kittens are 9-12 weeks old. Orphaned kittens may have a checklist of milestones they complete before adoption day.

Our goal is to find a loving forever-family for every rescue that comes our way!
